“Medical school rankings don’t matter!” - I can’t tell you how many times I heard this phrase while applying. A year later, I was offered a full-tuition scholarship to Weill Cornell Medical School in NYC and will be matriculating in August. And let me tell you - the other MD schools I was accepted to were not able to offer me nearly as good of a financial aid package.

A year later, I was offered a full-tuition scholarship to Weill Cornell Medical School in NYC and will be matriculating in August. And let me tell you - the other MD schools I was accepted to were not able to offer me nearly as good of a financial aid package.

The reality is that school rankings do matter because they often correlate with how much aid money a school is able to give you. Getting into these schools requires not just a great MCAT score, but also a stellar personal statement. Even with a 518 MCAT, my score was in the bottom 10th - 25th percentile for four out of ten schools that interviewed me: Cornell, Penn, Columbia, and WashU. Not only was my MCAT score lower than the median at these top schools, I also submitted my application very late in September. However, I was able to tell an incredible story: the story of an immigrant girl who started a business at the age of 12 to help her mom pay for food, got a full-ride scholarship to college, and then worked as a paramedic in New York during the entire two years of the pandemic. It was my writing that truly made my application great, and I'm here to help you do the same!

After having reviewed dozens of applications, I know how much it helps to have a second set of eyes on your writing, preferably those of someone who has recently - and successfully! - gone through this grueling process. Let's spruce up your personal statement so that it clearly communicates why you want to be a doctor (without putting your adcom readers to sleep).

I also offer MCAT tutoring if you need it: I scored a 130 (98th percentile) in CARS with English as my second language, and I've helped dozens of students raise their CARS scores by 3-4 points.

The MCAT and application are your biggest hurdles to becoming a doctor, but you don't have to tackle them alone! Reach out to book your first session with me today: your application is worth the investment.

Great tutor!

Tea is an amazing tutor. I had some concerns about CARS, so Tea went through passages with me thoroughly and gave me helpful tips to keep in mind. Additionally, Tea is able to answer any questions or concerns I have about certain science material, making sure I understand the types of passages and content I will see on test day. Thank you, Tea!

knows her chemistry!

I hired Tea to tutor my high school daughter in sophomore chemistry. Tea was extremely responsive, and organized and prepared for the session. My daughter (who is a tough customer) feels Tea is very well versed in chemistry and extremely smart, and is very happy to have Tea as her tutor.

MCAT from 513 to 516 in one month

Tea helped me get an MCAT score that I am very happy with. She was super organized and lined up an entire month up to MCAT test prep daily plan. She was amazing to work with because she knows the MCAT front to back and could answer all my questions and help me when I was stuck. By the time I took the MCAT, I felt much more confident in my abilities compared to before I got help from Tea. She is also an excellent writing coach and helped me get through my med school application essays. I would highly recommend Tea to any pre-med student who wants to solidify their MCAT score. - Piotr Andzel

Supportive and Helpful

Tea gave me the right structure and resources to be able to tackle this exam. If you need someone to help plan a very detailed schedule, Tea will definitely be the right person to go to with all your questions. I look forward to working with her more on my weak areas and understanding the information given.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Tea helped me realize my pitfalls for CARS and gave me a more structured approach to use when tackling CARS passages. She also gives in-depth explanations when reviewing science passages with you. She wants to make sure you truly understand the information before moving on.
