I did a small course of Portuguese and Pedagogy to teach children from 6 to 15 years old in peripheral neighborhoods in Luanda (Angola) as part of a project called Creating Future ("Gerando Futuro" in Portuguese).
It was one of the best experiences that I had and gave me a lot of experience in teaching and tutoring. I taught in that project until my third year of University in Angola, then I decided to change my major to Geophysics and move to the United States to finish my studies. I completed an IEP (Intensive English Program) in one year at Indiana University Bloomington, where I was part of Portuguese tutoring groups in a language exchange program that they had.
I tutored a couple people in Houghton (MI) that wanted to go to Brazil for their study research. I always had a passion for learning Languages so I can also speak French and Spanish because they are latin based languages and associated to Portuguese. I love teaching , it is one of my passions. Seeing a person going through the learning process and helping them to achieve goals while creating and using tools to achieve them is one of the most gratifying feelings.
I'm just here to help, and I know very well the difficulties of learning a new language. Leaning other languages gave me a lot of insight on techniques to teach them because I went through the same process.
