Hello everyone! I am an enthusiastic teacher and tutor, a past professional actor, and a current professional writer!
After studying theater and acting at Fairfield University, I completed my TEFL teacher training in Paris, France, in October 2011 and have since taught at more than one language/test prep school as well as worked with many private students in New York, France, and online. I then began focusing on standardized tests, including GMAT/GRE/EA/SAT Verbal, TOEFL, IELTS, and TOEIC, preparing students individually and in groups for these rigorous exams. I have tutored students of all ages in English, literature, history, grammar, reading, and writing. Finally, I have guided many high school students who were interested in attending universities in the United States and the UK, specifically helping them prepare their essays and personal statements.
In addition to my teacher training, I am an actor, writer, and performer. I am currently building my writing portfolio and have had several articles published on a variety of websites. I have also created two travel blogs, written a novel, and am working on several screenplays
Because of my theatrical training, I have excellent skills with communication, working with others, and being in front of small or large groups of people. I am a native English speaker, capable of very concise, articulate speech, and have a great love of the English language. I achieve amazing satisfaction from inspiring others to communicate. I enjoy the creative elements of teaching and using the students' interests to drive a passion and desire to learn. Amidst my travels across the globe thus far, I have learned that communication and education are the keys to understanding and appreciating each other.
