Following my first two degrees at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge in England, I was trained as a high school and college teacher, teaching Latin, Greek and Classical Studies as a teacher and head of faculty for six years. I have a great deal of experience teaching Latin and Greek to students between the ages of 10 and 19 and have an expansive supply of resources to make learning these subjects fun and easier for students of all ages and abilities. I have a proven track record as a teacher and private tutor of being able to push my students' achievement levels by selective and appropriate usage of these resources, as well as a commitment to always bringing a great amount of energy and enthusiasm to all of my lessons. I can be flexible when it comes to homework assignments, tests and progress reports, providing all of these as regularly as each student requires.
As a tutor I aim to be able to cater for all the students' needs and preferences in an effort to create an enjoyable, fulfilling and bespoke learning environment. It is very important to me that every student receives all the support the would need and I always aspire to create a feeling of achievement and progress at the end of every session.
I am currently studying for my PhD at Fordham University, where I am on a scholarship, and am available for tutoring any day except Saturday, from 9am-9pm, subject to the demands of my university.
I have an excellent track record with students' exam results; many of my students have gone on to study Classics at university level and some have even been commended on a national scale for their achievements. My own academic track record, as a graduate of top universities and a teacher/head of department at top English schools, also makes me an experienced tutor. I am regarded by my colleagues as someone who never gives up on any student and who always comes up with innovative and effective solutions to any issue faced by a student, either academic or pastoral.
