Tutoring for the CFA and Series 7 are my specialties. I ensure the highest quality tutoring experience, and have tutored a wide variety of students from Ivy League MBAs to undergrads at NYU.

I am hedge fund manager in New York City and can help you quickly and effectively improve your understanding of the CFA curriculum, Series 7, economics, finance, or accounting. Ultimately, I love to teach which is why I tutor on the side.

I have a deep background and primarily tutor for the CFA Exam as well as the FINRA Series 7 exam. I also specialize in tutoring Economics, introductory Accounting, and Corporate Finance.

Given the increasingly competitive financial services industry, I encourage my clients to keep their resumes up-to-date with the highest credentials they can, and use my tutoring to improve their chances of success!

My academic background includes a Master of Arts in Economics from USC (University of Southern California) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo (Best Math/Computer Science school in Canada).

My professional exam experience includes passing CFA Exams, Levels I and II, as well as Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 exams. With a strong background in finance and economics, I have tutored many students interested in careers in financial services.

I ask for feedback at the end of every tutoring session, encourage questions on my teaching methods and material coverage, and include a free 10 minute discussion with each lesson for practical applications (e.g., stock market implications, tax policies, etc.).

While I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, I am very flexible with my tutoring times, and I will not charge for any lesson that a student feels was not helpful.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. I am here to provide you with the best possible tutoring service you can get!

CFA

CFA

I have completed level I and II of the CFA, both on the first attempt, and still have the study material which I know very well. To further corroborate to my ability to tutor CFA material, I have worked in equity research for 8 years, and am currently an analyst for a hedge fund (which both use the material in practice). I have studied much of the CFA material in graduate and undergraduate school as well in an academic setting.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

Despite a career in finance, my academic background is largely focused around economics. I received a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from the U of Waterloo (Canada), and U of Southern California (USC), respectively. I also have 3 years experience tutoring economics, specifically at both the micro and macro levels, and can simplify concepts into practical examples to help students more easily absorb the material.

Series 63

Series 63

I have completed the Series 63 exam on the first attempt, and know the material very well given my career in equity research. I have worked in equity research on the sell-side for 8 years, and have a lot of experience in a number of ethics-oriented training. I have also studied much of the CFA material which deals with similar ethics approaches as the Series 63 exam.
Series 7

Series 7

I have the Series 7 license. I have been through the continuing education for the series 7 for the last 6 years as well. In addition to the Series 7 license I have passed Levels I and II of the CFA which has significant overlap with material from the Series 7 exam. Similarly, the experience I have gained from working in equity research on the sell-side for 8 years has also overlapped with content from the Series 7.

awesome teacher!!

I was struggling so badly to pick up on options, munis and fixed income but he made it so easy for me to learn what I was doing wrong and fix it right away! I picked up on it so much faster than I ever imagined. Great teacher! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic tutor and very knowledgeable, highly recommended!

If you are looking to go into buy side or sell side equity research I would highly recommend Jim, as he has many years of experience in equity research on Wall Street. Jim is a very patient and knowledgeable tutor who has guided me in areas where I need to focus in order to attain a position in equity research. He is able to help you improve on your resume as well as preparing you for the interview process for equity research. Financial modeling is very important for equity analysts and Jim has the ability to help students fully understand the entire process of building financial models from scratch. Jim has been a tremendous tutor and I look forward too many more tutoring sessions.
