I accomplish this by simplifying complex concepts through the use of examples and explaining why the concepts we study are useful in the first place. I am willing to work with students of all backgrounds and skill levels. I have more than five years of experience teaching and tutoring students in statistics, programming, and the social sciences. I also have experience with R, Python, STATA, and SPSS.

I am currently a tenure-track assistant professor at a top 20 college in the Northeast.

College Counseling

I am an assistant professor at a prestigious university in the Northeast. I can help you craft your application materials so that you put your best foot forward, and relay what makes you unique. I can help you edit your application and discuss which schools you have the best shot at getting into. In addition, I can advise you throughout the process as you receive acceptances (and rejections) from universities.
Political Science

Political Science

I am now a tenure-track professor at a Top 20 university in the Northeast. I received my Ph. D. from Stony Brook University's Department of Political Science and double majored in both Political Science and Psychology at Florida State University. I have taught numerous political science courses.
Probability

Probability

I have taught PhD-level courses in statistics and probability theory.
Python

Python

I received my Ph.D. from Stony Brook University, a school known for its focus on quantitative methods. I have been programming in Python for five years, building a computational model of immigration politics in the United States. The model takes in information about the Census and uses it to simulate interactions between immigrants and native-born residents. The code used to implement the model is rather complex, relying on iteration, list comprehensions, dictionaries and many of the language-specific components of Python. That is to say, I know the programming language pretty well and because I am not a computer science student by training, I can easily break down the concepts for people who are just starting to program while also being advanced enough to work with more intermediate students.
R

R

I have taught undergraduate and PhD-level courses on statistics, all of which have employed R as the primary programming language. I have over six years of experience working with the language and have developed scripts and packages. I am also up to date with what is going on in the R programming world and frequently attend meetups.
SPSS

SPSS

I have several years of experience working with SPSS.
STATA

STATA

As a social scientist by training, I am routinely working with data. Throughout my coursework, I have had to use STATA frequently and know how to run various models as well as interpret results generated by those models. I have tutored students using STATA and have helped them solve various statistical/programming problems.
Statistics

Statistics

I have taught a PhD-level course on statistics and am well versed in analyzing all kinds of data structures. I have a considerable amount of experience tutoring students of all backgrounds in statistics.

Yamil is a great tutor, and was both patient and expert in his field.

Statistics, SPSS and Regression Analysis, and he explained the technical terms well, and showed how they fit in to real-world examples.
