Hello prospective students and/or parents:

I am tutoring in the NYC Manhattan/Greenwich Village area for science and education. My primary interests in tutoring are progressing and forging skills as an instructor, and sharing what I have learned in and out of classrooms and research labs with students. My principal areas of study are mathematics and science (physics, chemistry, biology), computers and programming. Music and guitar are also areas I enjoy. I have had the great pleasure of tutoring and assisting students from around the world with their studies, research, and presentations.

Through a degree in physics and many multi-disciplinary research experiences, I have tutored a broad range of subjects at the middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels, including mathematics, chemistry, physics, electronics, computer programming, analysis, business, and economics.

Furthermore, I encourage my students to realize that they can tackle any subject put before them, no matter how difficult the material may appear, regardless of their academic background.

Computers have been a large part of my research and studies for many years and I look forward to sharing what I have learned about scientific computing and programming on Linux, Macintosh, and Windows systems, for those who are interested. For the scientifically minded high school or college student, I strongly encourage a familiarity of Linux computing and programming. The most successful and enlightening research experiences of my academic career were made possible with a practical knowledge of computers. Students with even a modest understanding of computing are at a tremendous advantage in terms of what they are able to accomplish in classroom and research environments.

Organic Chemistry

I am qualified to tutor Organic Chemistry as a result of the extensive course work and research performed earning my degree. In my undergraduate coursework I have had a full year of Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry, including lab courses. I have also had research experience in computational chemistry and biochemistry labs working with computational models of both large proteins and small atom clusters where we calculated or experimentally probed the energies, geometries, orbitals, and frequencies relevant to properties and reactions of organic molecules. Finally, I have experience tutoring Organic Chemistry and the mathematics, chemistry, and biology that are the foundations necessary for understanding the medical, genetic, and pharmaceutical importance of this field.

Extremely Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

Ken tutored my son in math who's due to attend grade 6 this coming school term. He was extremely knowledgeable in addressing my son's questions and/in projecting the lesson in a format and/or way my son understood. I can truly and honestly say I will definitely be using him for more lessons when the need arises.

Prepared, patient, and experienced tutor

He started math review of addition and subtraction for my daughter in preparation for multiplication and division of 2 and 3 digit numbers. For Roman worked 2 digit addition problems up to sums of 100 or more requiring carrying to tens place. Ken is great. I can truly and honestly say I will definitely be using him for more lessons.
