My primary areas of interest are classical music and musical theatre, but I'm knowledgeable about many areas of popular music as well. I have helped improve the musical skills of clients from age eight to seventy-two. My approach is patient and low-key; I find that motivation comes best from love of the material, rather than pep talks, browbeating or guilt. Many of my clients have told me that they appreciate my individualized approach, building on strengths to bolster weaknesses.

I look forward to working with you!

Great first lesson

I got a semester's worth of college-level theory in one session! And we still had time to talk about the composing process, tools and techniques. Very knowledgeable and practical.

To the point and concise

David was very helpful - I only had one hour to review topics and I feel he answered everything in a very constructive way and was able to breeze through material with me. Thanks!

Incredibly knowledgeable and able to communicate concepts well

David is an amazing teacher. I don't know how I would have managed some of my assignments without his careful explanations and attention to my learning style. He will be an asset to anyone searching for clarification and understanding, especially in the areas of music.
