I graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with a BA in philosophy in 2017. I thereafter worked in local government and at a law firm before attending George Washinigton University Law School where I graduated Order of the Coif with high honors. At law school, I tutored peers for two years in Corporations, Criminal Procedure, Torts, Contracts, and Civil Procedure. Before embarking on my career as a public defender I passed the Uniform Bar Examination with a score of 339 in the 99th percentile. After two years working as a public defender, I decided to pursue graduate studies in philosophy at Florida State University where I expect to earn my M.A. in 2027. I currently work as an Assistant Professorial Lecturer of Law at GW Law where I have teach a summer course "Introduction to the 1L Classroom" guiding students through legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and study strategies.

If you're a law student nervous about your upcoming final exams or a recent graduate preparing for the bar exam, I have the experience and knowledge to help you grasp the material and succeed on your exam. My lessons offer a unique approach to the material that will help you grasp it clearly. My teaching style is tailored to my student's learning strengths. Where commercial bar prep offers a relatively one-size-fits-all approach to legal teaching, my pedagogical approach is dynamic and interactive. If you learn visually that will inform our sessions. Likewise if you're a verbal processor who thrives on narrative examples. I offer a teaching style that is effective, attentive, and hopefully fun. For me, teaching is a deeply enjoyable enterprise and I hope my enthusiasm for teaching a subject I love will make our sessions enjoyable for you as well.

Approved Subjects

Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign

I gained proficiency in Adobe InDesign as a senior in high school when I took a course called "Desktop Publishing." This course gave me the computer skills I needed to be an editor on my high school newspaper, to run my own music magazine, and to make flyers and promotional advertisements for the company I worked for last summer.
Bar Exam

Bar Exam

I graduated GW Law in the top 6% of my class (GPA: 3.857) and passed the bar on my first attempt: July 2022 New York Bar Exam with a UBE / New York Bar Exam score of 339 and a MBE score of 163.0. I then went on to work at The Bronx Defenders as a staff attorney for about 2.5 years.
General Music

General Music

I did well in AP Music Theory in school; sang in a leading collegiate a cappella group, Voices In Your Head, I play guitar, I used to play bass and harmonica for various rock bands. I sang professionally in the chorus of the opera The Tales of Hoffmann. I'm an avid student of music history, particularly the history of Hip Hop. I am also a singer/songwriter.

Public Speaking

While litigating trials, I delivered closing arguments, made objections, conducted direct and cross examination, and used my presence and tone of voice to persuade others in favor of my client.
Study Skills

Study Skills

As a student at Horace Mann School, I achieved high marks in English, Math, Science, French, and History, and was able to balance my studies with my positions as editor on my high school's weekly newspaper and as president of several clubs. I was a mentor to middle school students and to underclassmen and taught them time management, test-taking, homework, and class participation skills in addition through planned and structured class session which I led with a partner. I try to teach my students to use the tactics that I found most useful to my success in high school and the college admissions process which has situated me at The University of Chicago: namely, making a daily homework schedule, taking breaks between study sessions to absorb more material, and going to sleep early and eating "brain foods", and most importantly, building the confidence to be able to ask the teacher for extra help.
