I love sharing my knowledge and my students love to learn. I believe that every student is an individual. Therefore my teaching methods cater to the individual students and use creative methods of learning. As a result my students excel and come away with a love of learning their subjects. I teach at Pace University as an Adjunct Faculty with a Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from The New School University.

My background is in the Arts. I was a professional performer and visual artist for many years. I am a published poet and teacher of English to speakers of other languages. I taught dance and acting for over five years. My academic teaching career began as an early childhood teacher and later I taught Academics through the Arts as a guest teacher in the public and private school system for over 30 years. I have taught ESOL to adult students for over five years in a school situation and as a private tutor. I have worked as a college admissions person for two years and have guided a number of students, including three of my own, and parents through the college application process for successful placements in good schools.

I look at teaching as sharing what I know with my students. My joy of learning is infectious, so my students enjoy their studies.

I look forward to meeting you.

College Counseling

College Counseling

I worked for the Alfred University Admissions Dept for two years from 1975 to 1977. I have recently counseled a number of students, including two of my own sons, to successfully be placed in various good schools, including some highly selective schools such as Princeton and University of Southern California, with excellent financial aid packages. Having completed Undergraduate School and Graduate School, I am well versed in the necessary steps to the application process. Having insider knowledge, I can counsel the student as to the way to gain the highest position for possible acceptance.

As a Screen Actors Guild BookPAL, I promote literacy in elementary schools through reading. My degrees are a BS and MA TESOL.

Study Skills

Study Skills

Study Skills are a necessary component to any subject I teach or tutor. I feel that without the skills and tools, to study successfully, a student will not be able to achieve their highest potential. To be successful the student needs to understand how to be organized, prioritize their studies and learn time management. I love seeing my students learn to enjoy their studies as they gain success in their endeavors. Every student is an individual and has a different style of learning. Therefore, I customize the study skills to fit the best style of learning for each individual student. This way all my students have the best chance of success.
Writing
