Through over 20 years of working with MCAT CARS students, I have learned how to quickly diagnose what is impeding a student's success in this section. I teach proper AAMC analysis and how to tackle the logic that is used in the questions. I use active reading, pattern recognition, mapping techniques and more to customize a study plan for each individual student, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. The main focus of my lessons is to teach students to identify the author's primary argument and to understand the support that the author uses to bolster that argument, which translates to the focus of the questions. I also teach to analyze structure and how to make connections to see the big picture. In addition, I teach students how to tackle the questions with a systemized approach.

I am a former test prep teacher from the Princeton Review, as well as a certified yoga and meditation instructor. I have an extensive background in working with students in many capacities, both academically as well as holistically. Performing well on a standardized test relies greatly on a student's state of mind, so in addition to covering the materials, I also focus on helping students build confidence and deal with stress and anxiety of the MCAT I have excellent relationships with my students and those relationships have continued long after our work was finished. I've been teaching SAT/ACT prep. MCAT verbal, and GRE since 2006, first with the Princeton Review, then privately. Over the years I've worked with many students in crafting their essays to have their personalities shine through. The essay is the only part of the application where a student can express who they truly are outside of grades/scores/clubs. It's an imperative part of the process and can be the tipping point on an application. I have also completed the common app. for many students and have had students accepted by George Washington, American University, Syracuse, Welsley, Tufts, Loyola, Pace and others. I have also used the Naviance system and can help in all aspects of navigating the application process.

I specialize in MCAT Verbal section only. I taught it for the Princeton Review at the University of Puerto Rico for 6 years. I can teach how to properly work the passages and evaluate your errors in order to get the maximum points on the verbal section. I have extensive experience in helping students come up with an individual strategy to get the most correct answers possible within their personal abilities.

I'm a 200 hour certified Kripalu Yoga teacher with a specialization in stress relief and meditation working with youth. I worked with teenagers in the Juvenile Detention Centers of the South Bronx in NYC through a program called the Lineage Project for many years. Outstanding tutor and resource

Justina worked with my daughter this summer on reading skills in preparation for the MCAT. My daughter has worked with other tutors in the past, but Justina was by far the most knowledgeable, insightful and confidence-boosting coach she had ever had. She clearly diagnosed the active reading skills that needed to be developed, and worked with her on a step by step approach that has improved her mastery of both the main ideas and details of the passages. Excellent tutor!!!

Justina is an amazing tutor who has helped me to understand the CARS portion of the MCAT so much better. I am truly so grateful to her and feel so much more confident in that section. Justina is an Incredible CARS Tutor

Justina was an incredible CARS tutor, and I am very grateful that we discovered her as a resource.
