I am qualified to teach core subjects because I have formal teacher preparation training, I hold a standard certificate in this field, I present content to students in a meaningful way that fosters understanding, I am caring, fair and aware that each student has individual learning needs, I dedicate extra time to my instruction, preparation and reflection. These are some of the qualities that makes me qualified to teach core subjects.

I am qualified to teach in this subject not only because I am a certified teacher, but also because I incorporate the fundamental principles of effective phonics teaching. Some examples are: I focus on the letters and combinations of letters that make up particular sounds and words. I provide scaffolding opportunities to practice their phonics learning in writing and reading context etc.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I am qualified to assist with study skills because as a teacher I am prepared and organized and can help a student minimize his/her distractions. I can provide an effective review of all key points which in turn, speaks to the curriculum covered, the learning goals and the grading expectations. These are just some of the ways in which I feel I would be an asset to a student with their study skills.
