Although my tutoring style may vary slightly based on the preferred learning style and desired outcome of the student/parent, I strike a balance between "learn by doing" and teaching concepts when tutoring. This means that I work with the student to both solve exercises as well as review the underlying concepts of the problems. When possible, I use pictures, diagrams, and graphs to organize and present concepts so they are easier to remember and apply.
