Every student is different, and I take the time to understand how they think, where they get stuck, and what sparks their curiosity. With that insight, I tailor our sessions to build on their natural strengths while systematically addressing gaps. Regular practice tests and targeted assignments aren’t just routine—they’re tools for building momentum, resilience, and mastery.

My background includes master’s degrees in both psychology and statistics, which shape how I teach both the mindset and mechanics of test performance. I’ve also been through this process myself, earning a 36 on the ACT and a 1590 on the SAT. I bring that same clarity and discipline to every student I work with.

I have been in academia for 10 years, and I've been accepted to two competitive Master's programs. I'm available to help students with admissions essay writing. With each student, I go through a 5-Step essay development process: Step 1: We discuss the type of college you are applying to. We then scout the various college websites for keywords that the admissions people drop when they discuss their ideal applicants. Step 2: We discuss how you will be an asset to the colleges you are choosing. Aside from your academic interests we explore your character, spirit and personality. Step 3: We write your essay. Getting the important points on paper that we discussed in Step 2 is actually the easiest part. Because I'm aware how important it is for your application to be as competitive as possible, I give you the option of allowing me to help you with writing style and mechanics. This is completely up to you. Step 4: We end for the day, and I call in a few favors from some Ph.D. friends of mine who have been on admissions committees. They take a couple minutes to read your essay and present me with their opinions. Step 5: Based on the professional opinions that I've sought out (and after sleeping over the essay we wrote), we edit the essay to make it as communicative and impactful as possible. Overall, this is a 3 to 4 hour process.
