I have always been passionate about STEM, especially math and chemistry. These subjects always clicked with me, and solving equations often felt more like a hobby than homework! However, I understand that these fields can be challenging. I struggled at one point, too, and working with a math tutor showed me how empowering it is to overcome difficulties with patience and guidance. I am forever grateful for that experience, and I hope to provide the same encouragement to my students. My goal is for every student to leave my sessions with a stronger understanding of the material and the confidence to solve problems independently.
My teaching style emphasizes active recall and problem-solving. I encourage students to attempt problems independently and identify relevant concepts if they are unsure where to begin. From there, we work through the problem together, strengthening their understanding step by step. I am also happy to adapt my approach to each student's learning style and individual needs.
As for my experience, I have helped friends with math homework and tutored my cousin in Algebra 2. I have also conducted scientific research, which strengthened my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Academically, I earned a 5 on AP Calculus AB, a 4 on AP Calculus BC, a 4 on AP Chemistry, and a 5 on AP Precalculus. I have completed math coursework ranging from Pre-Algebra through Calculus II and am prepared to tutor students in Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus.
