I am an Adjunct Professor of Classical Voice at Drew University and a professional singer and actor with more than 20 years of performance experience. I studied at East Carolina University and have worked professionally across musical theater, opera, and concert performance, including productions at the Metropolitan Opera and major international opera houses, as well as a Broadway First National Tour. I bring that professional experience into lessons while meeting each student at their individual level, whether they are discovering their voice for the first time or preparing for auditions and professional work.
I have taught private voice students for more than 10 years in one-on-one and university settings, working with children, teens, college students, adults, beginners, and experienced performers. My approach combines healthy, reliable vocal technique with practical performance training. Lessons may include breath coordination, resonance, registration, range, musicality, interpretation, acting through song, repertoire selection, and audition preparation, depending on the student’s goals. I believe technique should ultimately give a singer greater freedom, confidence, and ability to communicate.
I also offer coaching in acting and theater, drawing on more than two decades of professional stage experience. My goal is to create an encouraging but rigorous environment where students can build skills they understand and can reproduce independently. Lessons are tailored to the individual rather than built around a one-size-fits-all method, and I welcome students pursuing singing or theater recreationally as well as those preparing for academic, audition, and professional opportunities.
