I am currently pursuing my M.S. in Data Science at Columbia University, after graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Informatics, specializing in Human-Centered Data Science, and a Certificate in Scientific Computation and Data Science. I have developed a strong quantitative background through coursework and continued work with algebra, calculus, statistics, and other mathematical concepts as part of my studies in data science. I enjoy helping students understand the reasoning behind a problem rather than simply memorizing steps.

I have experience teaching students in grades K–12 through my work as a Coding Instructor with Coding with Kids, where I taught programming in Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C#, and Scratch for over a year. Additionally, I tutored students in algebra at my local temple. I worked with students in a teaching environment where lessons were adapted to different ages, skill levels, and learning styles. This experience taught me how important personalized learning can be when introducing a difficult concept and how much more effective learning can be when students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

My tutoring approach is centered around making math feel understandable rather than intimidating. I typically begin by identifying what a student is struggling with, reviewing the relevant concepts, and breaking problems into smaller steps. We then work through examples together before having the student practice independently, with guidance when needed. I adjust the pace and level of explanation based on each student and revisit challenging concepts until they feel comfortable with the material. My goal is not only to help students complete their current assignments or prepare for a test, but to help them build the understanding and confidence to approach similar problems independently.
