I hold a B.A. in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. My academic background spans both analytical and narrative disciplines, which I draw on directly when helping students build a well-reasoned school list alongside a compelling personal essay. I also hold A.A.'s in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Applied Sciences from Santa Barbara City College.
I have seven years of professional experience as a college admissions consultant, following three years of informally coaching students before that, for a combined decade working directly with high school students on the college application process. My approach is grounded in narrative craft: I spent six years at Disney Animation, where my job centered on identifying the emotional core of a story and helping it become the clearest version of itself. I apply that same instinct to help students find and articulate what makes their own story distinct, rather than defaulting to generic "achievement lists" in their essays.
My work has been almost entirely one-on-one, with students primarily ages 14–18 (high school freshmen through seniors), covering the full arc of the admissions process: essay brainstorming and drafting, extracurricular positioning, school list strategy, and interview preparation. Students I've supported have gone onto many top 30 institutions including Yale, Princeton, UChicago, UCLA, UMich, USC, UIUC, UCSD, and many more. I tailor my approach to each student's individual voice and goals rather than a one-size-fits-all essay formula.
