Hi! I’m a patent engineer and Johns Hopkins University graduate with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering. I have a strong background in mathematics, science, programming, and technical problem-solving, and I genuinely enjoy helping students become more confident in subjects that may initially feel difficult.

I have approximately four years of experience mentoring high school and college students, as well as tutoring friends and peers. During college, I worked as a course developer and led the coding club, which gave me additional experience creating educational materials and breaking down complex concepts into clear, understandable steps.

I specialize in mathematics from the elementary level through Pre-Calculus, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. I also specialize in standardized test preparation, particularly SAT and ISEE Math. I earned a 780 on the SAT Math section and scored in the highest percentile on the ISEE. In addition to math, I tutor introductory programming, Python, and Java.

My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I don't believe in simply giving students the answer. Instead, I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each problem so they can develop the skills and confidence to solve similar problems independently. I adjust my approach based on each student's learning style, goals, and current level of understanding.

As someone who works full-time as a patent engineer, I am organized, dependable, and accustomed to managing deadlines and responsibilities. I take my students' time and progress seriously and come prepared to make each session productive.

If you're looking for a knowledgeable and patient STEM tutor who can make challenging material more approachable, I'd love to help! Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson.
