Hi! I'm Elizabeth, a recent graduate of Williams College, where I earned my B.A. in Chemistry with a concentration in Neuroscience. I'm currently working as a Clinical Research Assistant at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York while I apply to medical school. My goal is to become a pediatrician, so working with kids is central to both my career path and my teaching approach.
For two years, I served as a Teaching Assistant for General and Organic Chemistry at Williams, where I assisted in weekly lab sessions for undergraduates, worked one-on-one with students who needed extra support, and graded problem sets and lab discussions. Through that experience, I learned that the most effective way for students to truly master material is to have them teach it back to me; rather than just listening to an explanation, walking through the logic out loud themselves is what makes a concept stick. I use that same student-led approach in my tutoring: after introducing a concept, I ask students to guide me through a problem step-by-step, which quickly reveals any gaps in understanding.
Outside of the college classroom, I've spent years working directly with younger kids in more informal teaching settings — I independently designed and taught a ballet classes to elementary-aged students and co-led the children’s program at a summer camp in Montana. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling confident and genuinely curious about science. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
