Hello! My name is Luis, and I am a medical student in NYC and a graduate (May 2026) of a top U.S. public university. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a major in Cell Biology & Neuroscience, and minors in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Linguistics. I also graduated with numerous academic and research honors. Moreover, I have studied many languages, and am able to fluently speak several.
I have tutored extensively as an undergraduate for a variety of important premedical courses, including first and second-semester General Chemistry, second-semester General Physics (light/optics, electromagnetism, circuits, relativity, nuclear physics), first and second-semester Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Genetics, all at the undergraduate level. Collectively, I spent more than 500 hours in the classroom working with students during weekly 2-hour sessions of 10+ students, teaching material, answering questions, and arranging collaborative review sessions. I have additionally spent more than 500 hours outside of the classroom preparing take-home assignments, creating slides, lesson-planning, and working with students online. My students' average grade across these courses was an A.
I took the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) April 2025, and scored a 100th percentile score (132/130/132/132). During my senior year, I taught an MCAT prep class. This intensive class consisted of 25 students and met in-person for just under 750 hours, consisting of review for every section on the MCAT, error analysis, strategy review, collaborative review, and individualized content review for students. I also spent around 300 hours developing study schedules for students, slides covering the majority of topics across the sciences, and meeting with students outside of class. My students' average score on the exam was a 516.
I am committed to presenting science in a digestible and individualized format, catering to the needs of individual students, to the end of helping them realize their full potential.
