I am an attorney, graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, and former Judicial Law Clerk to Justice Peter J. Maassen of the Alaska Supreme Court.
I scored a 166 on the LSAT and, before transferring to Michigan, finished my first year at Michigan State University College of Law ranked #1 in a class of 261 students, earning top marks in Contracts, Torts, and Advocacy. At Michigan, I served as a Contributing Editor for the Michigan Journal of Law Reform and later passed the Illinois Bar Exam with a score of 339 (approximately 99th percentile). I have also successfully completed New York's character and fitness process and am currently awaiting my swearing-in ceremony for admission to the New York bar.
Throughout law school, my clerkship, and my legal career, I have spent thousands of hours researching complex legal issues, analyzing arguments, and developing clear, persuasive writing. Just as importantly, I learned how to study efficiently, take effective notes, organize large amounts of information, and prepare for high-pressure exams. My experience includes work as a summer associate at Ropes & Gray LLP, an externship with the Neighborhood Defender Service, and participation in the University of Michigan Environmental Law & Sustainability Clinic.
I enjoy helping students build confidence and develop practical skills rather than simply memorizing information. Whether a student is preparing for the LSAT, applying to law school, considering a law school transfer, improving legal writing, or preparing for exams, I tailor my approach to the individual's goals and learning style. My objective is not only to help students succeed on the immediate assignment or test, but also to give them tools and strategies they can continue using long after our sessions end.
And on top of (or maybe despite!) all of the law-related credentials above, I promise I have a sense of humor too.
