Hi! I'm a rising senior at Columbia University studying English. I've been tutoring and teaching students since high school in both one-on-one and classroom settings, working with middle school, high school, and college-age students.
My experience includes leading SAT bootcamps, teaching a six-week law and human rights course for high school students, mentoring students preparing for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test, and providing over 130 hours of tutoring for K–12 students. Through Schoolhouse, I led an SAT Bootcamp where students improved their scores by an average of 70 points.
I tutor SAT Reading & Writing, SAT Math, English, writing, essay editing, and Algebra. I scored a 1570 on the SAT (770 Reading & Writing, 800 Math), and I help students not only understand the material but also develop effective test-taking strategies. Depending on the student's needs, this may involve reviewing missed questions, identifying patterns, or teaching concepts directly using targeted practice and resources.
As an English major, I especially enjoy helping students become stronger and more confident writers. Whether it's a middle school essay, a high school paper, or a college application, I work with students to communicate their ideas clearly and effectively. For college essays, I help students identify what makes their experiences and interests unique and turn those ideas into a compelling narrative.
My teaching philosophy is simple: there are no stupid questions. Students learn best when they feel comfortable asking for help and exploring ideas freely. At the same time, I believe progress comes from effort and curiosity. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to challenge themselves, build confidence, and take ownership of their learning.
I know what it's like to be a student because I'm still one myself. My goal is to make tutoring approachable, engaging, and productive while helping each student reach their full potential.
