Hi, I'm Sam. I am an incoming Harvard freshman and SAT Reading & Writing specialist. I scored a 790 (99th percentile) on the Reading & Writing section and have 20+ verified hours of English tutoring through Schoolhouse.world, the nonprofit founded by Sal Khan.
I focus on the verbal side of the SAT. I teach both the grammar and punctuation rules the SAT focuses on, as well as the trickier reading questions that test command of evidence, inference, and main-idea identification. My goal is to teach students how to frame problems in their mind, and then how to think through problems to deduce the correct answer, a process that clicked for me while I studied.
In tutoring sessions, I will come prepared with College Board supplied reading and writing questions, and have the student work through them first before reviewing the process and thinking with them.
I graduated from Collegiate School in New York in 2026. In high school I wrote for my school newspaper. I am also an avid reader.
