My name is Belma, and I am currently a Bachelor of Architecture student at Cornell University’s College of Architecture Art and Planning. My passion for architecture and design began long before college through specialized programs at Carnegie Mellon University, Cooper Union, Pratt Institute, the Center for Architecture, and the ACE Mentor Program. Through these experiences, as well as my coursework at Cornell, I have developed extensive skills in architectural drawing, design thinking, portfolio development, photography, graphic communication, and visual storytelling.
Outside of school, I have completed multiple architecture and design internships in NYC, including positions at MKDA (Milo Kleinberg Design Associates) and Ricardo Zurita Architecture & Planning. I worked on architectural floor plans, renderings, design presentations, site analysis, material selections, and client-facing projects. I am experienced with industry-standard software including Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AutoCAD, and Lightroom. These professional experiences have enabled me to apply classroom skills to real-world design projects while working alongside architects, interior designers, and industry professionals.
My tutoring approach focuses on helping students build confidence while developing both technical and creative skills. Whether you are interested in architecture school admissions, portfolio development, drawing, photography, Adobe, design software, or learning more about architecture as a field, I tailor lessons to each student's individual goals. I have spent years developing my own portfolio and navigating the architecture school application process, giving me firsthand knowledge of what competitive programs look for in applicants. I enjoy helping students discover their strengths, improve their work, and create portfolios that feel unique to them rather than simply checking boxes.
