Hi,
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. Since graduating, I have built my career working hands-on across architecture firms and cultural institutions throughout NYC, gaining experience in every phase of the design process — from initial concept development and space planning through construction documentation, material specifications, and project delivery. This breadth of real-world experience gives me a perspective that goes well beyond what most textbooks cover, and it's the foundation of everything I bring to tutoring.
I work one-on-one with students at all levels, from college freshmen stepping into their first studio course to working professionals making a career transition into interior design or architecture. In our sessions, I can help with design fundamentals, space planning, color theory, drafting, and technical software including AutoCAD and Revit. I adapt each session to where you are. If you're struggling with a specific assignment, we'll work through it together; if you want a structured overview of a topic, we'll build that foundation step by step. I'm patient, clear in my explanations, and focused on making sure you actually understand the material rather than just getting through it.
What I care about most is closing the gap between classroom learning and professional practice. Design school gives you the theory, but there is a real difference between a student project and a working drawing set that a contractor can build from. My goal is to help you develop the technical skills, professional judgment, and confidence to succeed not just in school, but when you're sitting across from a principal at a firm or presenting to a client for the first time. Whether you need help with a single project or ongoing support throughout a semester, I'm here to help you grow into the designer you want to be.
