I’m a PhD candidate in Roman History with a degree in education (BEd) and over a decade of teaching experience at both the secondary and university levels. I’ve worked with students in classroom settings as well as one-on-one, primarily at the high school and undergraduate levels.

My background is in ancient history and the humanities more broadly, and my teaching expertise is in history, academic writing, Latin, and French. Much of my tutoring focuses on helping students engage with complex material—whether that’s interpreting historical sources, developing arguments, or structuring essays and research papers.

My virtual and physical classrooms are cooperative learning environments where students feel safe to explore their ideas without fear of reprisal and with strong encouragement and support. I focus on helping students understand how to approach their work: breaking down difficult texts, organizing ideas clearly, and building arguments step by step. The goal is to give students tools they can use independently, not just to get through a single assignment.

I learn best from those teachers who connected with me personally, and who made the material do the same thing. Inspired by them, my sessions are adapted to each student’s level and goals, and are available online or in person in NYC.

Approved Subjects

Classics

Classics

My work in Classics includes ancient history, Latin language and literature, and the study of primary sources (especially inscriptions). I have experience helping students with Latin at the university level, as well as supporting coursework in ancient history and related humanities subjects. I also work with students on writing assignments common in Classics courses, including essays, translations, and research papers.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I am a PhD candidate in Roman History with extensive experience teaching and mentoring students in academic writing at the high school and university levels. My work involves producing and editing complex research in ancient history, which has strengthened my ability to guide students in developing clear arguments, strong thesis statements, and well-structured essays. I have supported students in improving grammar, style, and critical analysis, as well as in preparing research papers and thesis-driven assignments. My approach emphasizes clarity, organization, and building confidence in writing across disciplines.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

I am a PhD candidate in Roman History with a background in Education and several years of teaching experience at both the secondary and university levels. In my work with students, I frequently support executive functioning skills in high school and university/college students (ex. organization, time management, task initiation, and planning). I work with students who feel overwhelmed by assignments or struggle to keep track of deadlines, helping them break work into manageable steps and develop consistent routines. Much of my approach is integrated with academic support, particularly in writing-heavy courses where planning and structure are essential. My goal is to help students build practical strategies they can use independently, improving both their confidence and their ability to manage their workload over time.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I am a PhD candidate in Roman History with extensive experience in academic writing and research at the undergraduate and graduate levels. My work involves developing long-form arguments, engaging with primary and secondary sources, and structuring complex research projects. I support students with extended research papers and thesis writing at all stages, from refining a topic and building an argument to organizing drafts and revising for clarity. I also help students break large projects into manageable steps and maintain momentum over time. My approach focuses on clarity, structure, and developing independent writing skills, so that students can navigate research-intensive work with greater confidence. I also have a decade of experience evaluating theses for high school and undergraduate courses.
