I'm Alex! I graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and began my career at Citi in M&A investment banking. After two years, I transitioned to private equity investing at Michael Dell's Family Office. I currently attend Harvard Business School, where I'm pursuing my MBA.

The reason I offer career coaching and B-School (both undergrad and MBA) admissions guidance is because I TRULY enjoy teaching and helping give direction to talented students and young professionals.

I've held numerous professional development roles throughout my career, leading Michigan college recruiting for both the investment bank and private equity firm I've worked at. I've also mentored dozens of students, helping them secure top investment banking and private equity roles. Our work together will cover the basics (resume, cover letter, interview prep), but we'll we'll go much deeper and assess your likelihood to actually enjoy certain high profile careers, accessing my vast network across finance roles as well as consulting, entertainment, technology, and sports.

In the past application cycle, I gained admission to Harvard Business School, Wharton School (receiving the Joseph Wharton merit scholarship), and Columbia Business School (admitted during the Deferred Enrollment Program as a college senior). I approach MBA admissions and application construction from the perspective of the X-Factor: Who are you and what do you bring to the world? We'll approach MBA coaching the same way I did. We'll start with deep conversations about what motivates you and what differentiates you from others. We'll seek to answer one primary question, "Why will a top MBA program benefit from having you seated in their class." My goal is honest, constructive feedback from someone who remembers what it felt like to be on your side of the table less than 12 months ago.

Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a career coaching session, undergraduate B-School coaching, or MBA coaching.

Business

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and began my career at Citi in M&A Investment Banking. After two years in investment banking, I joined MSD Partners, the private investment firm built to manage Michael Dell's family capital. This MBA admissions cycle, I was admitted to Harvard Business School, The Wharton School at UPenn (Joseph Wharton Fellow for academic merit), and Columbia Business School (Deferred MBA Program). Wherever you are in the process – still deciding if finance is the right path, prepping for a first technical interview, or revising essay number twelve – I’d be glad to help.
Career Development

Career Development

Having moved from Undergraduate Business School to M&A Investment Banking at Citi to the buyside at MSD Partners (Private Equity & Merchant Banking), I've navigated the exact recruiting gauntlets (undergrad finance recruiting, IB-to-PE on-cycle) that trip most candidates up, and I can help you reverse-engineer them. I've also just come through this MBA cycle with admissions to Harvard Business School, The Wharton School at UPenn (Joseph Wharton Fellow for academic merit), and Columbia Business School's Deferred MBA Program, so I know what top programs are actually reading for. Beyond the resume, I've been on both sides of the interview table and have learned how to translate raw experience into a story that resonates with bankers, investors, and admissions committees alike. Wherever you are -- still deciding if finance is the right path, prepping for a first technical interview, or revising essay number twelve -- I'd be glad to help.

Interview Prep

Interview Prep

Interview prep is where I can add the most direct value, because I've sat for, and prepared extensively for, the three areas I coach: investment banking Superdays, private equity on-cycle (technicals, LBO modeling tests, and case studies), and MBA admissions interviews at top programs. I successfully recruited Investment Banking into Citi's most competitive group (Mergers & Acquisitions), the on-cycle process onto the buyside at MSD Partners (Michael Dell's family investment firm), and this past cycle earned admits to Harvard Business School, Wharton (Joseph Wharton Fellow), and Columbia Business School's Deferred MBA Program. I know which technicals actually get asked, how to structure behavioral answers that hold up under heavy fire, and how to read what an interviewer is really testing for. Whether you're staring down your first mock, walking into a Superday, or about to interview with HBS, I'd be glad to help you walk in prepared. Wherever you are in the process – still deciding if a career is the right path or prepping for your first technical interview – I’d be glad to help.
MBA

MBA

The hardest part of MBA applications isn't writing. It's figuring out who you actually are on the page, what you uniquely add to the world, and what your X-factor is when stripped of titles and accolades. That's the work I love, and it's the work I just did myself: I built my own applications around an integrated narrative that wove together my roots in the outdoors and environmental stewardship, my path from childhood to Michigan Ross, through M&A at Citi to investing at MSD Partners, and a clear vision for what I want to build next. Earning admits to Harvard Business School, Wharton (Joseph Wharton Fellow), and Columbia's Deferred MBA Program, I am uniquely qualified to help you (and young enough that I remember what it feels like to be you). As a coach, I go deep on the excavation phase: we'll map your defining moments, surface the themes only you can write about, and find the through-line that turns a resume into a person an admissions committee remembers. If you're wondering how to turn your life into something a Harvard reader will remember, I'd be glad to help.
