I am a dedicated professional educator with a formal Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching from Santo Tomas University in Colombia. My career began with five years of intensive classroom experience in Colombian schools, where I developed a strong foundation in pedagogy and curriculum design.
I initially specialized in early childhood education at the Pre-K level before transitioning into teaching English as a second language to high school students up through the 11th grade. This experience allowed me to master the art of classroom management and lesson planning across various developmental stages, ensuring that every student received the support they needed to succeed.
Since moving to the United States, I have successfully transitioned my teaching practice from the classroom to personalized, one-on-one tutoring settings. I have spent the last few years providing private Spanish instruction to both children and adults in California and New York. My method is highly adaptive; I utilize the "Communicative Approach" to ensure that my students are not just memorizing vocabulary, but are actually using the language in real-world contexts.
Because of my upcoming transition into the Master of Social Work program at Hunter College, I bring a unique level of empathy, patience, and professional communication to every session, making complex linguistic concepts easy for my students to understand.
