Jack is a film and creative writing educator with a background in both professional story development and educational consulting. He graduated from Hamilton College, where he studied World Politics with a specialization in International Development. Through Hamilton’s open curriculum, he also completed coursework in literature, sociology, philosophy, economics, religion, gender studies, physics, and film. This interdisciplinary background shapes his teaching philosophy: he helps students connect ideas across disciplines, develop intellectual curiosity, and produce writing and creative work that reflects a distinctive point of view.
Before transitioning into educational consulting, Jack worked in the film industry as a Story Analyst and Creative Development Associate. In these roles, he evaluated screenplays, television pilots, novels, and stage plays; collaborated with writers and producers on narrative development; and workshoped original film and television projects. This professional experience gives him a strong foundation in narrative structure, character development, thematic analysis, and storytelling craft—skills that translate directly into his work with students studying film, creative writing, and college admissions essays.
Since 2020, Jack has worked as a full-time Educational Consultant, helping hundreds of students strengthen their writing, refine their ideas, and develop compelling personal narratives. His students have earned admission to universities including MIT, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Cornell, Wellesley, the University of Michigan, Vanderbilt, Emory, UNC Chapel Hill, and University College London.
Jack specializes in tutoring film analysis, screenwriting, creative writing, and college application essays. He has worked with middle school, high school, and college students, primarily in one-on-one mentorship settings focused on writing development, storytelling, and college application preparation.
