Hey I'm Tristan! I graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and am currently working toward my PhD at NYU. Throughout highschool and college, I struggled with understanding the underlying concepts behind the things we learn in Math, Physics, and Science classes. After joining a research lab, I developed the knack for translating class material into real world examples that are easy to understand. In my teaching approach, I use personalized, fun, and creative examples unique to each student's understanding and lived experiences. Understanding these concepts is the hard part, everything else will fall into place after!
I have frequently mentored students and trainees 1-on-1 throughout my years of a graduate student. I specialize in explaining concepts in Physics and Biology, but I am also well-versed in different math concentrations from algebra to calculus.
My goal is not only to improve your grades, but to also improve your understanding of the topics that will help you down the road! I am a very strong advocate for individualized learning so I am welcome to any suggestions or resources students and parents may have. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
