I help students from middle school through college sharpen their skills, close gaps, and get into the schools they're aiming for, whether that's lifting a test score, mastering a tough math course, or shaping a college essay that stands out.
I graduated magna cum laude from Princeton with a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering, and I'm currently in the Mathematics of Finance program at Columbia. I scored 1560 on the SAT and 36 on the ACT, both 99th percentile. Over five years I've worked with more than 100 students, 50+ of them in SAT/ACT prep, across mathematics through multivariable calculus, statistics, AP sciences, economics, and college admissions essays. At Princeton I spent two and a half years with CollegeBound Review running one-on-one sessions and small group classes, and I served as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate optimization course.
Every engagement starts with a diagnostic. For test prep, I map a student's error patterns across question types, then build customized problem sets targeting those specific gaps, with strategy layered on top of content: question categorization, time allocation by difficulty tier, and pacing. For academic subjects, I focus on application over memorization, working through problems that force students to use principles in unfamiliar contexts rather than just recall them. Sessions run 60 to 90 minutes, and I keep detailed progress notes so we always know what's improving and what to target next.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I scored a 36 on the ACT, including the Math section, and studied math through multivariable calculus as part of my Operations Research and Financial Engineering degree at Princeton, where I graduated magna cum laude. I'm now in Columbia's Mathematics of Finance (MAFN) master's program, so the quantitative material the ACT tests is something I use and teach at a far higher level every day. My ACT Math work centers on the topics the test concentrates on most: linear and quadratic equations, coordinate geometry, right-triangle and unit-circle trigonometry, systems, and the statistics and number-theory problems that appear on every form. I teach students to categorize each problem by type on sight, allocate time by difficulty so they never lose easy points to the clock, and recognize the specific traps the ACT builds into its answer choices, drilling timed sets until they can finish all 60 questions with time to spare.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I graduated magna cum laude from Princeton last year, where I earned admission to 25 top universities, including 5 Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT, and Duke. Over the last 4 years, I've helped more than 20 students navigate the college application process and secure acceptances at the Ivies and other top private schools. My approach combines strategic positioning of each student's story with detailed guidance on essays, school selection, and application timelines. I bring patience, a strong editorial eye, and a recent insider's perspective on what top admissions readers respond to.
Data Science

Data Science

Graduating magna cum laude from Princeton with a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering gave me a strong foundation across statistics, probability, machine learning, and programming in Python and R. My six months at Barclays in Investment Banking involved working with data-heavy quantitative models daily, and this fall I'm starting Columbia's Mathematics of Finance program. Over the past five years, I've tutored applied math and statistics to students at all levels, and I enjoy breaking down complex data science concepts into intuitive, approachable lessons.
Finite Math

Finite Math

I graduated magna cum laude from Princeton with a degree in Applied Math, scored an 800 on the SAT Math section and a perfect score on the ACT Math section, and have spent 5+ years tutoring 100+ students across math at every level, including finite math topics like linear algebra, matrices, probability, sets, logic, and linear programming.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I wrote the personal statements and essays that earned me admission to 25 top universities, including 5 Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT, and Duke. Over the last 3 years, I've tutored 15 students through their personal statements and applications, with a focus on curating a compelling story and communicating it through effective prose. My approach centers on helping students find the authentic narrative that sets them apart, then sharpening every sentence so the writing carries weight on the page. I bring patience, a strong editorial eye, and a deep understanding of what admissions readers respond to.
Series 7

Series 7

I passed the Series 7 last year and spent six months in debt capital markets at Barclays structuring bond deals, so the fixed income and new-issue rules on the exam are things I worked with directly. The questions that sink most people are the options strategies, the margin math, and the long tail of suitability and regulatory rules you have to memorize, and I know how to make those stick instead of blur together. I work through real practice questions with you, stopping to unpack why the right answer is right, so you walk into the exam recognizing the patterns instead of guessing.
SIE Exam (Securities)

SIE Exam (Securities)

Passing the SIE on the first try required a working knowledge of the full range of topics tested, from equity and debt instruments to regulatory frameworks, customer accounts, and prohibited practices. My six months as an Investment Banker at Barclays built on that foundation in a live setting, giving me firsthand experience with how the concepts actually play out in the industry. Holding an active broker's license means I've stayed close to the material rather than letting it go stale after the exam. Having graduated magna cum laude from Princeton in Operations Research and Financial Engineering, I'm comfortable breaking down dense regulatory and financial concepts into clear, digestible explanations for students at any level.
Statistics

Statistics

I received a 5 on the AP Statistics exam and an A+ in College Statistics before going on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University with a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering, a program centered on probability, statistics, and stochastic modeling. My coursework included advanced probability theory, statistical inference, regression analysis, time series, and stochastic processes.
United States History

United States History

I scored a 5 on AP US History and graduated magna cum laude from Princeton, where I continued to take history coursework alongside my Applied Math major. I have spent the last 5+ years tutoring 100+ students across history and humanities subjects, with a particular focus on US History at the high school and AP level. My approach centers on helping students build a clear narrative of major eras and themes rather than memorizing isolated facts, which translates directly into stronger essay writing and exam performance.
