I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s degree from the University of San Diego, with specialized certification in Orton-Gillingham methodology, including morphology. My academic training is grounded in literacy development and evidence-based instructional practices, particularly for students who benefit from structured, explicit reading and writing support. This background has shaped my ability to tailor instruction to individual learning needs while maintaining high academic expectations.
I have over six years of classroom teaching experience across both general education and special education settings, as well as ten years of tutoring experience with a range of tutoring companies. I’ve worked with students from elementary school through high school in both one-on-one and small-group contexts, focusing on reading, writing, grammar, and executive functioning skills. My experience includes supporting students with learning differences, guiding high schoolers through the college essay process, and providing individualized literacy instruction as a learning specialist. Across all settings, I prioritize relationship-building, differentiated instruction, and helping students gain confidence in their abilities as readers and writers.
