I hold a Master of Arts in Spanish Literature and French Linguistics, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages from the University of Georgia. Fluent in English and Spanish, my educational background reflects both rigorous linguistic study and a genuine passion for both humanity and its dynamic expression.
I am a veteran World Languages educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience across elementary, middle, and high school settings. I have taught Spanish and French in independent and charter schools, serving students ranging in age from approximately 3 to 18. These roles have allowed me to work in traditional classroom environments as well as smaller, more personalized learning communities.
My teaching approach centers on communication, connection, and confidence-building rather than perfection. I emphasize meaningful interaction, relationship-building, and real-world relevance, encouraging students to take risks and embrace mistakes as a natural part of language acquisition. I focus on empowering students with the tools and strategies to independently seek out and acquire language, positioning multilingualism as a vital component of global citizenship.
