I'm Dana! I am an incoming Clinical Psychology PhD student and earned my Master's in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University in Spring 2025. I also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 with a Bachelor's in Cognitive Science and minors in Consumer Psychology and French. I have extensive experience in psychology, research methods, statistics, and academic writing and editing. I also formally studied French for over ten years and took a semester abroad in Lyon, France, living with a host family and completing all coursework in French. Outside of academics, I love singing, playing sports including basketball and tennis, and playing board games with friends.

Over the years, I have served as a mentor to college and master's students, worked as a research assistant in multiple labs, taken detailed class notes for my school's Student Disability Services, and offered peer support in many of my courses. I have also taught applied psychology topics to older adults in an engaging, discussion-based format. These experiences taught me to explain complex material clearly, break tasks into manageable steps, and adapt my teaching to different learning needs. During my undergraduate and master's education, my favorite classes were taught by professors who were kind, engaging, interesting, and patient and I strive to bring those same humanistic qualities to my tutoring. Growing up with family members who had executive functioning challenges, I also developed practical strategies for time management and meeting assignment deadlines, which I enjoy sharing with students. I aim to meet each student where they are, building confidence through a collaborative, strenghts-based approach tailored to individual learning styles. I welcome any resources or suggestions from students and parents to make the lessons as effective and enjoyable as possible. I look forward to working with you!
