My name is Julian! I'm a Behavioral Neuroscience major, published author, and 2000-rated chess player fluent in English and Spanish. I offer tutoring in chess, neuroscience (including psychology, biology, and chemistry), college essay writing, and academic subjects. In Ecuador, I founded the Colegio Menor Chess Club and acted as vice-president and tutor for new members for two years. In my last high school years, I moved to Guatemala, where I created a class for students about chess. During college, I grew with a passion for writing. I realized it is truly one of the most mature and concise ways to express ourselves. My first collection of poetic texts, "Luces Efimera," was published in Letralia Magazine. It followed the central theme of light as it explored the beauty of a fleeting life. During my high school years, I fell in love with music. This was reflected in my effort in learning the saxophone, and throughout my stay in school, I was placed in charge as an assistant teacher to my own peers in Colegio Menors' Latin jazz band.

My approach is structured but personal. I know the best way to learn is always proactively. I focus on helping students think critically, write with authenticity, and understand complex ideas with clarity and precision. I have been lucky enough to be able to apply this strategy as a Northeastern online tutor for the last few months on the app Knack in topics like psychology and Neuroscience for freshmen!
