Dr. Tarek Khater is an Internist physician, ECFMG certified, with a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine and more than 20 years of clinical experience across intensive care units, hospitals, and nursing homes. He is a Board member of Point-of-Care Certification Academy (PCA) Council a part of Inteleos with ARDMS & APCA, has devoted his career to advancing Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and diagnostic medical sonography, earning 10 advanced sonography certifications, including SPI, RDMS (Abdomen & OB/GYN), RCS, RVS, RPVI, RMSK, and specialized POCUS certifications in Emergency Medicine and Musculoskeletal applications.
Dr. Khater holds both a physician medical license and a permanent New York State teaching license in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He is highly skilled in musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostics of the joints and spine, and he performs advanced ultrasound-guided procedures including trigger point release and regional nerve blocks. His clinical and instructional expertise includes training Columbia University residents in vascular ultrasound at Harlem Hospital.
