Hi! I’m Arya, and I’m a pre-medical student with a passion for stories and a desire to connect with students. I have always been fascinated by the nexus of STEM and creative pursuits, and this duality comes through in both my learning journey and the way I teach. I study Neuroscience and Behavior at Columbia University, and have experience with a wide range of STEM coursework. Outside of academics, I am a dancer and poet, as well as an EMT-B licensed in two states and nationally. My diverse experiences ensure that I prioritize personalized learning, and am always willing to go the extra mile to make something “click” for a student.
I have been tutoring since middle school, with ten years of aggregate experience in both in-person and virtual formats. I have taught everything from dissection-based biology and SAT prep to creative writing and public speaking. I’ve worked with learners all across the K-12 range, and learned to support students with diverse strengths, goals, and backgrounds. I am extremely flexible and willing to adapt a lesson in the moment to better align with a student’s learning style, and open to feedback throughout the tutoring process.
I am easy to reach and will always prioritize prompt communication! The best learning environments are built on a foundation of trust and curiosity, and I strive to foster those qualities early in a tutoring relationship. I’m excited to connect with you and help you on your journey!
