I am a multidisciplinary visual artist and educator with an MFA in Art + Integrated Media from CalArts, and I currently teach painting and drawing at Yale School of Art. My teaching draws on my own active studio practice and exhibition record in Los Angeles, New York, and internationally, and I bring that real-world perspective into the classroom and private lessons. I offer students personalized guidance that balances rigorous technical training with space for creative exploration.
My lessons focus on both painting and drawing, adapted for students at all levels. Beginners learn foundational skills such as observation, proportion, and color mixing, while more experienced artists refine their technique, experiment with new approaches, and push their creative voice further. I believe that learning art should be both disciplined and exploratory, so I encourage students to develop confidence while cultivating their own style.
In addition to painting and drawing lessons, I also specialize in portfolio reviews and admissions coaching for students applying to top art programs such as Yale, RISD, CalArts, and MICA. I work closely with students to refine their work into strong, cohesive portfolios that highlight their strengths and artistic vision. Whether through lessons, portfolio preparation, or admissions support, my goal is always to help students grow as artists and present their best creative voice.
