I hold a PhD in Anthropology and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, along with many years of professional experience as a data analyst and database manager at the CDC. Currently, I teach in the Department of Engineering Education at Virginia Tech, where I work with large groups of undergraduate students on programming, data analysis, and engineering fundamentals. My academic and professional background has given me deep expertise in Python, SQL, and mathematics, and I also bring the perspective of being a native Turkish speaker. Over the years, I have taught in both classroom and one-on-one settings, as well as supervised applied projects, giving me the opportunity to support learners at different stages—from teenagers preparing for college to undergraduates navigating complex coursework.
