Hi. I'm Abby! I graduated Suma cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Ever since I was a young girl, I have always loved to read and write. Throughout my years of schooling, I excelled in all of my AP and honors courses especially those related to the subjects I was most interested in such as English, Literature, and Language. As a result of this love for reading and writing, I chose to pursue a degree in journalism. During my time in school, I wrote many published articles, really fine-tuned my writing skillset, and enhanced my portfolio. I am able to provide editing help, give lessons in grammar and spelling, and assist with reading and writing. I am passionate about teaching as I enjoy helping others and hope to instill a passion in students for reading and writing.
Throughout my time in college, I wrote for our school newspaper The Monitor, was an editor for the literary magazine TwoTwoOne, and edited many students papers. In my spare time when I am not dancing, I am reading or editing individual's papers and books.
In addition to tutoring in English categories like writing, grammar, essay writing, reading, literature, etc., I also am able to teach both dance lessons and French. I have trained in dance since the age of two and have taught at various studios. My repertoire of styles is very broad and includes: jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, lyrical, ballet, hip-hop, jazz funk, street jazz, and others. I also have taken years of French and received the Seal of Biliteracy. I am able to tutor in reading, speaking, writing, and listening in French.
I want to benefit the students that I work with by providing them excellent guidance, detailed critiques, and engaging atmospheres where creativity flourishes.
