I've been teaching since I was in high school in some form or another. Every chapter of my life from high school till now has had some teaching. I've been teaching since I was in high school in some form or another. Every chapter of my life from high school till now has had some teaching. I was privileged to have some excellent teachers growing up, and it definitely rubbed off on me. In high school, as part of the duties in the National Honor Society, I tutored students in 7/8th grade on their science classes, predominantly Chemistry, as that was my passion at that time. At Brown University, I tutored other students in various subjects, usually Chemistry, Physics, or computer science.
After that, I worked at Johnson & Johnson as a heart mapper. With time, I garnered more responsibilities: I was a trainer to new employees, conducted seminars and gave lectures to local medical staff and physicians on cardiac electrophysiology, worked with the R&D teams on the mapping software, and worked with the commercial education team to help teach the onboarding 4-week program for new hires.
I went back to school to get my Masters in Computer Science at UPenn. By my second semester, I had begun to TA for the courses I had already taken. I would conduct recitations, hold open office hour lectures/chats, and hold 1-on-1 office hours where students could book time with me through UPenn. I taught courses in computer systems, computer science and data structures, and networking systems.
After graduating from my first Masters, I went to work at Yale University in a Neurology Lab where I acted as both a researcher and software engineer. There were several running lecture series that I would participate in (often teaching several in each run). I also became the de facto ‘teacher’ in the lab for all things related to ai/ml, coding, or signal processing.
I went back to school again to get a Masters in AI/ML and Data Science. I have just completed that this summer, and I am looking to continuing teaching in a way that still allows full-time commitments. So, I would love to be able to tutor through Wyzant.
