I am an attorney licensed in New York and Minnesota with 7 years of practice experience. I graduated from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2018 with my JD. I worked for 2 years at the Houston Immigration Court as a law clerk to immigration judges doing legal research and writing. This was a 2 year position through the U.S. Department of Justice - Attorney General Honors Program. Then from 2020 to 2023, I worked in the Staff Attorney's Office at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where I wrote memoranda and decisions for Federal Appellate Judges on immigration appeals. Since 2023, I have been working as an immigration attorney at a large public defense nonprofit organization in New York City, Brooklyn Defender Services. I have expertise in legal research and writing.
Since 2023, I have worked as an essay grader with the Bar Exam Prep Company, JD Advising. In this role, I provide feedback and guidance to students on practice essays as they study for the Bar Exam. I have done this work for 5 administrations of the Bar Exam. This work engages with all subjects tested on the Bar Exam. I help students better understand the concepts within each subject matter and assist them with the coherence and structure of their writing.
In addition to my experience as a Bar Exam essay grader, I have a TEFL certificate from 2014 and experience teaching adult students in ESL. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014 with a double major in Spanish and International Studies as well as a minor in Women's Studies. From 2012 to 2015, I taught ESL to adult Spanish speakers on a part-time basis in a one-on-one setting and taught a Citizenship Test Prep Course in a classroom setting. I also tutored high school students in Spanish one-on-one.
