Hello, my name is Maanal. I hold a B.A. degree in Environmental Science from Barnard College of Columbia University (Top 20 liberal arts college) and M.S. in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (graduated with honors). For me, receiving tutoring and being able to tutor has always been a privilege. My tutors were immensely impactful in shaping my educational journey and cultivating my academic aspirations. Now, I aim to embody those attributes.
For the past 6 years, I have tutored middle school, high school, and college students in various math and science subjects. I understand that every student approaches learning differently. I have a proven track record to adapt my methods to fit students' level of understanding, skills, and goals. I worked with 100+ students to master SAT Math, SHSAT, and Regents math and science (Earth Science, Chemistry, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry) subjects. I helped students improve their grades by two letter grades, increase test score by 50-150 points, and score in the 90th percentile for their Regents exams. It is a fulfilling experience to see my students build their confidence in math and science.
Test prep does not need to be a daunting experience. My students have scored in the 98th percentile in the digital SAT. In my tutoring sessions, I encourage the students to think critically like the exam writer and use all resources (such as the Desmos calculator). I use the Digital SAT practice tests, workbooks, and problems sets for students to conquer the exam. After my sessions, I always provide a detailed summary and notes. My expertise also applies to Regents exams. I graduated Top 10% from a specialized high school in NYC with an advanced Regents diploma. My course grade was above 95% in all my Regents classes.
