I'm Rohan! I graduated from New York University with a double major in computer science and finance, and before that was valedictorian of my high school. I have also worked for 5 years as a software and machine learning engineer at several large software companies such as Amazon, Datadog, and IBM. I left that career to pursue higher mathematics education for myself, currently finishing a second bachelor's degree in mathematics, and to further explore education.

I'm new to formal tutoring in math, but here is my teaching philosophy. I pay special attention to ensure you understand each part of the material thoroughly before we move on - foundations are everything. I enjoy trying different methods of exploring concepts together to find one that clicks for you. I want my students to leave our time together with more confidence than they came in with. We will be a team in tackling your areas of difficulty and celebrating your wins.
Perhaps most importantly, I want to help my students to get more intrinsic value out of math beyond just acing their courses and exams. I believe math is uniquely well-suited as an area of study to providing several benefits. Math can improve our focus and critical thinking ability; it can give us the confidence and resilience to tackle other difficult challenges in our life without giving up. It can also be meditative and peaceful, and help us be more present. These benefits are all unrelated to its application to scientific and technical pursuits in the world. This is why I myself am studying and teaching it, and I want to help you realize these benefits too!
If you have questions, suggestions, or want to schedule a lesson, please feel free to reach out! I'm comfortable tutoring a wide variety of math topics at the high school and early college level. I'm looking forward to working with you!
