Hello! My name is Julian, and I am an incoming medical student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM). Throughout my undergraduate studies, I maintained a 3.97 GPA while completing rigorous coursework in General Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Psychology, and Sociology. I also earned 90+ percentile scores on the Chemical and Physical Foundations, Biological and Biochemical Foundations, and Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations sections of the MCAT. Preparing for medical school has taught me how to break down difficult scientific concepts into manageable pieces, and I enjoy helping others build the same confidence and understanding that helped me succeed.

Over the years, I have helped high school students, college classmates, friends, and family members with biology, chemistry, psychology, and sociology. My teaching philosophy is centered on understanding rather than memorization. Instead of simply telling students what to memorize, I explain why concepts work the way they do and connect them to real-world examples whenever possible. Whether we're discussing enzyme kinetics, chemical equilibrium, genetics, or human physiology, I want students to understand the underlying principles so they can confidently solve new problems on their own.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the individual's goals, background, and learning style. Some students benefit from visual diagrams, others prefer practice problems or step-by-step explanations, and I adapt my approach accordingly. I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about making mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades or prepare for exams, but also to build the confidence and critical-thinking skills that will continue to benefit them long after our tutoring sessions.

I scored a 129 in the Chemical and Physical Foundations, 129 in the Biological and Biochemical Foundations, and 131 in the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations sections of the MCAT. Having recently gone through the MCAT preparation process myself, I can help students strengthen their content knowledge, passage analysis, question-solving strategies, and study approach using methods that worked for me. I tutor the science and psychology sections of the MCAT, but I do not currently offer CARS tutoring.

Julian helped me during an MCAT C/P sprint I needed to conduct prior to my close exam as I needed assistance from on passage comprehension and comfort in processing AAMC logic in question analysis. He helped me turn a lack of confidence around into a system and improve my thought process.
