Hello! My name is Julian, and I am an incoming medical student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM). Throughout my undergraduate studies, I maintained a 3.97 GPA while completing rigorous coursework in General Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Psychology, and Sociology. I also earned 90+ percentile scores on the Chemical and Physical Foundations, Biological and Biochemical Foundations, and Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations sections of the MCAT. Preparing for medical school has taught me how to break down difficult scientific concepts into manageable pieces, and I enjoy helping others build the same confidence and understanding that helped me succeed.

Over the years, I have helped high school students, college classmates, friends, and family members with biology, chemistry, psychology, and sociology. My teaching philosophy is centered on understanding rather than memorization. Instead of simply telling students what to memorize, I explain why concepts work the way they do and connect them to real-world examples whenever possible. Whether we're discussing enzyme kinetics, chemical equilibrium, genetics, or human physiology, I want students to understand the underlying principles so they can confidently solve new problems on their own.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the individual's goals, background, and learning style. Some students benefit from visual diagrams, others prefer practice problems or step-by-step explanations, and I adapt my approach accordingly. I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about making mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades or prepare for exams, but also to build the confidence and critical-thinking skills that will continue to benefit them long after our tutoring sessions.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I am an incoming medical student at NYITCOM with a 3.97 undergraduate GPA and a strong background in mathematics and the sciences. I earned a 1420 on the SAT, including a 780 on the Math section, demonstrating a strong foundation in algebra and quantitative problem-solving. I have also continued to apply algebra extensively throughout my college science coursework and while preparing for the MCAT, particularly when solving problems in general chemistry and physics. I focus on breaking problems down into clear, manageable steps and helping students understand the reasoning behind the math rather than simply memorizing formulas.
Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I am an incoming medical student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) with a 3.97 GPA and extensive coursework in the biological and chemical sciences, including General Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Genetics, and Physiology. I also scored in the 90+ percentile on the Biological and Biochemical Foundations section of the MCAT, which required a strong understanding of biochemistry, metabolism, enzymes, proteins, and molecular biology. I believe students learn best by understanding concepts rather than memorizing pathways and reactions, so I use practical, real-world examples to make biochemistry engaging and easier to understand. I tailor every lesson to each student's learning style and tutor biochemistry at the high school and college levels.
Biology

Biology

I am an incoming medical student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) with a 3.97 GPA and extensive coursework in biology, including General Biology, Genetics, Physiology, and other advanced life science courses. I also scored in the 90+ percentile on the Biological and Biochemical Foundations section of the MCAT. I believe students learn best by understanding concepts rather than memorizing facts, so I use practical, real-world examples to make biology engaging and easier to understand. I tailor every lesson to each student's learning style and tutor biology at the high school, AP, and college levels.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I am an incoming medical student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) with a 3.97 GPA and a strong foundation in chemistry. Throughout college, I completed General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, building a deep understanding of fundamental chemical principles and their real-world applications. I also scored in the 90+ percentile on the Chemical and Physical Foundations section of the MCAT, reflecting my proficiency in chemistry and related scientific concepts. I tutor high school, AP, and college-level chemistry
Elementary Math

I am an incoming medical student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) with a 3.97 GPA and a 90th percentile MCAT score. I have more than five years of tutoring experience and have completed extensive coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and mathematics. I believe students learn best by understanding concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures, so I focus on building strong foundational skills and critical thinking. I tailor every lesson to each student's learning style while helping them develop confidence, effective study habits, and long-term academic success.
MCAT

MCAT

I am an incoming medical student at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) with a 3.97 GPA and a 90th percentile MCAT score. I scored a 129 in the Chemical and Physical Foundations, 129 in the Biological and Biochemical Foundations, and 131 in the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations sections of the MCAT. Having recently gone through the MCAT preparation process myself, I can help students strengthen their content knowledge, passage analysis, question-solving strategies, and study approach using methods that worked for me. I tutor the science and psychology sections of the MCAT, but I do not currently offer CARS tutoring.
