I’ve been tutoring for over six years, working with students ranging from middle school to college. I specialize in math—Algebra 1 and 2, Precalculus, SAT Math (I scored a 790), and Statistics—as well as English, reading comprehension, and writing at both high school and college levels. My background includes a degree in Finance and Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I also supported peers through academic coaching and served as a writing mentor in various courses.
My approach to tutoring is highly individualized. I believe that building confidence is just as important as building skills, so I take the time to get to know how each student learns best. Whether we’re breaking down the steps of a tough math problem or brainstorming a thesis for an essay, I aim to create a supportive and judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I’ve also had the privilege of working with students with learning differences—including dyslexia, ADHD, and dyscalculia—and I adapt my methods accordingly to ensure they feel understood and empowered.
Most of my experience is one-on-one, either in-person or virtually, which has taught me how to read between the lines of what a student says and adjust quickly to their needs. I’ve seen firsthand how the right support can change a student’s outlook on a subject—and that’s what I love most about tutoring.
