Valedictorian | 5s on AP Bio + Calc AB/BC | 800 SAT Math |

Shaya R.

Hey! I’m Shaya! I'm a chill, down-to-earth tutor who’s been helping people with math and science since high school. I was valedictorian, got 5s on AP Bio and both Calc AB and BC, scored an 800 on SAT Math, and finished Honors Multivariable Calculus online through Johns Hopkins CTY. But honestly, I think how I explain things matters more than the scores.

Friends always came to me for help because I was good at figuring out what actually confused them and explaining it in a way that clicked. Whether it’s algebra, biology, or derivatives, I try to make it feel like a conversation, not a lecture. I don’t just throw the answer at you, rather I help you understand it so you can build the confidence and intuition, and maybe actually enjoy the process. I’ve tutored peers, younger students, and even classmates who swore they’d never “get” math, and there's nothing better than that moment when it finally clicks and they say, "Ohhh, now I get it!"

My approach is laid-back but focused. We’ll talk it through at your pace, find the root of what’s tripping you up, and fix it together. I work with all kinds of students: some who are behind and trying to catch up, and others who are pushing ahead and want that extra edge. I adjust based on what works for you.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just want to finally feel like you get the material, I’m here to help. Message me anytime with questions or to set up a session; no pressure, no judgment. Let’s make learning make sense!
