Hello! My name is Connor, and I'm here to get you on the fastest track to writing, recording, and releasing your own music! My biggest peeve in life is when people say they "don't have a musical bone" in their body; all your bones are musical! Every human has music flowing in them!

I'm currently attending NYU Tisch's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, achieving a 3.8 GPA in coursework relating to music production, songwriting, engineering, performance, and music business. I'm continuing to learn from and work with longtime industry professionals (Such as JD Samson or Kenta Yonesaka), soaking up as much knowledge as I can. For the Summer, I am currently interning at Rarefied Recording, one of San Diego's most well esteemed recording studios; here, I help engineer sessions, make critical technical decisions, and provide any other kind of support to the artists who are recording.

I'm proficient in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton, and Reaper. I have been playing guitar for over six years, and singing for seven.

In terms of tutoring experience, I have consistently worked with kids in arts education situations. I have been teaching and assisting dance classes at a dance studio, working with students from ages 8 to 16. I am currently running theater camps at that same studio for the summer, focused more on acting and singing. I have also worked as an arts camp counselor, guiding children through interactive art creation sessions, fostering creative self expression. Finally, I am currently tutoring my friends on music production, teaching them how to navigate a DAW. All these experiences have equipped me to balance teaching both the technical and artistic sides of all different forms of art, leading students down a path to find their own artistic voice.

Approved Subjects

Guitar

Guitar

I began my guitar journey in middle school by learning Spanish Guitar, but found my true passion for composition and songwriting on my own. I have continued to study theory, technique, and composition through a rigorous practice schedule and artistic exploration. I continue to perform in everything from showcases to backyard shows, and consistently record on both my own and others' records. I'm most advanced in composition, and even though I thrive most in folk, indie, or shoegaze settings, I have experience in all corners of guitar playing.
Music Production

Music Production

I'm currently attending NYU Tisch's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, which is all about music production. I've taken advanced coursework for DAWs like Logic Pro and Pro Tools. Further, I've studied the ins and outs of these programs in my free time as I record, produce, and release my own music. (I've achieved over 4,000 streams on Spotify alone) I am fluent in all DAWs, and can help you begin to produce the kind of music you want to hear yourself.
Songwriting

Songwriting

In my six years writing songs, I have grown incredibly comfortable writing, recording, and releasing these pieces of musical poetry. Through the continuous process of soundtracking my life, I've learned countless tips and tricks for things that artistically get me moving, ways to squeeze a song out of life when I didn't know one was there. In my time at NYU, I have continuously worked with other talented artists to co-write and edit each other's writing, which has given me more insight into others' individual voices. I would be able to equip you with a songwriter's perspective, a new way at capturing life.
Spanish

Sharp. Speaks clearly and knows his stuff.

I am a 61 year-old who wants to learn to use LogicPro (basically a souped-up version of Garageband). I was baffled (and inhibited) by the sheer overwhelming number of features and setting up for all the various possibilities. Anyway, Connor is clearly as comfortable driving LogicPro as I am, say, driving a car. He communicated clearly and stayed on track when I wandered off with irrelevant comments -- stuck to the task in a linear fashion. I was very impressed, and I have started making some multi-track recordings, and will set up a follow-up lesson next week.
