Hi! My name is Annie. I am a passionate educator with five years of professional experience in diverse classroom settings. I tutored throughout high school and college and worked as a substitute teacher in my local school district when college classes were out of session. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in 2020. Following graduation, I moved to Miami to participate in the Teach for America program. I spent my two years there as an intensive reading teacher, instructing approximately 180 middle school students with learning differences each year.
After I completed my commitment in Miami, I moved to Madrid, Spain where I worked for two years as an English teacher for the Ministry of Education of Spain. I worked at a secondary school, supporting 7-12 grade students at various stages of their English language learning process. I also tutored 8 private students who ranged in age from 8 to 25. In addition, I received my Master’s degree in the Social Foundations of Education from the University of Virginia while working.
I now live in New York and just completed my first year as a Special Education Teacher at Winston Preparatory School. I look forward to bringing my experience and belief in the necessity of an approach to learning that centers the individual student to tutoring work!
